Basketball Recap: Lorain Wins Going Away Against Shaw

Lorain was handed a heart-breaking two-point loss in their last contest, but they sure didn't let that happen against Shaw on Saturday. The Lorain Titans were the clear victor by a 56-34 margin over the Shaw Cardinals. That looming 56-34 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for the Titans yet this season.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Lorain to victory, but perhaps none more so than Ava Miller, who posted six points and ten steals. Miller has become a key player for Lorain: the team is 5-2 when she posts at least three steals, but 1-2 otherwise. The team also got some help courtesy of Brajhia Phillips, who went 5 for 10 on her way to 11 points and six rebounds.

Lorain pushed their record up to 6-4 with the victory, which was their third straight on the road. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 52.0 points per game. As for Shaw, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-8.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Lorain will take on Valley Forge at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Shaw, they will face off against Brush at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
