The Verdigris Cardinals fell on hard times earlier this season, but after back-to-back victories it seems like their luck might finally be changing. They were the clear victor by a 30-6 margin over Dewey. That's another feather in the cap for Verdigris, who also won these teams' last head-to-head.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Verdigris to victory, but perhaps none more so than Ty McKnight, who rushed for 96 yards and a touchdown, and also picked up 59 receiving yards. Tyler Willis was another key contributor, picking up 128 receiving yards and a touchdown.
Verdigris is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matches, which provided a nice bump to their 4-5 record this season. As for Dewey, they are on a seven-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-7.
Verdigris will head out on the road to face off against Inola at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Dewey, they will look to defend their home field on Friday against Cascia Hall at 7:00 p.m. Cascia Hall presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Dewey in Oklahoma (Cascia Hall is ranked 66th, while Dewey is ranked 216th).
