Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a  season-high score is even better (just ask Burton). They blew past the Mission Bears 47-14  on Wednesday. Winning may never get old, but the Pumas sure are getting used to it with their third in a row.
A big part of Burton's  victory came down to the chemistry between  Paris Malicdem and her top target  Angel Laleh Wysinger. Malicdem rushed for 23 yards and two  TDs while  Wysinger gained 31 total yards and two touchdowns. Malicdem also deserves a shoutout for her performance on D,  making three total tackles and defending one pass in addition to snagging  an  interception.  Madonna Becerra got in on the action too, converting a pick into a touchdown.

 Both  squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Burton will challenge Balboa at 11:30  a.m.  on Saturday. As for Mission, they will get a bit of extra time to process the  loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Immaculate Conception at 4:00  p.m.  on  the 29th.
