The York Dukes won the last time they faced the Lexington Minutemen, and things went their way on Saturday too. York claimed a resounding 55-11 victory over Lexington on the road. The match was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 37-5.
York's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Kiersten Portwine, who scored 16 points. Kinslee Kern was another key contributor, scoring 14 points.
The win makes it two in a row for York and bumps their season record up to 2-1. As for Lexington, they still haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-4.
York will head out on the road to face off against Elkhorn on Tuesday. Elkhorn and York are at an even 5-5 over their past ten head-to-heads. Lexington will be home for the holidays to greet Northwest at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
