The Clear Creek Golddiggers will take on the Belleview Christian Bruins at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Clear Creek has five straight wins, Belleview Christian has three straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the field.
Clear Creek is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They really took it to Gilpin County for the full four quarters, racking up a 60-32 victory. The Golddiggers pushed the score to 52-26 by the end of the third, a deficit the Eagles had little chance of recovering from.

Merrell Harvey was his usual excellent self, rushing for 212 yards and four TDs while picking up 12.5 yards per carry, and also picking up 50 receiving yards and one score. Those four rushing touchdowns gave him a new career-high. Jacob Young was another key player, rushing for 102 yards and one touchdown.
They were just one part of a punishing run game: Clear Creek was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 486 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 190 rushing yards in 12 consecutive contests dating back to last season.
Another reason for the win was Clear Creek's imposing defensive line, which managed to get into the backfield for six sacks. The heavy lifting was done by Drake Isaacson and Young, who racked up five sacks between them. Isaacson is also crushing it when it comes to total tackles: he's made at least seven every time he's taken the field this season.
Meanwhile, Belleview Christian ended up a good deal behind Justice on Saturday and lost 34-16.
Although Belleview Christian took the loss, they still got scores from Jonathan Mallory and Daniel Canda.
Clear Creek's win bumped their record up to 5-0. As for Belleview Christian, their loss dropped their record down to 1-4.
Here's a few offensive stats to keep an eye on ahead of Friday's matchup: Clear Creek has been on an offensive roll this season, having averaged 464.2 total yards per game. It's a different story for Belleview Christian, though, as they've been averaging only 139.8 total yards. Will Clear Creek be able to march up the field at their leisure again, or will the Bruins flip the script?
