Salem is 2-8 against Christiansburg since April of 2019 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The Spartans will head out to challenge the Blue Demons at 7:00 p.m. Neither of those teams managed to put together many runs in their previous contests, so the offenses might be a little more motivated than usual.
Salem is headed into the match having just posted their closest win since April 12, 2024 on Friday. They skirted past Hidden Valley 2-1. The victory continues a trend for the Spartans in their matchups with the Titans: they've now won four in a row.

Cora Robinson spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned run on six hits and racked up seven Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than seven strikeouts in seven consecutive appearances.
At the plate, the team relied heavily on Cora Sparger, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base, one double, and one RBI.
Cave Spring hit Christiansburg with a seven-run first inning on Friday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Blue Demons came up short against the Knights, falling 11-1.
Tyleigh Dillard made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run and one stolen base. That stolen base was her first of the season.
Salem pushed their record up to 15-4-1 with the win, which was their eighth straight at home. The home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.3 runs over those games. As for Christiansburg, their defeat dropped their record down to 10-6.
Christiansburg's hitters will have their work cut out for them on Tuesday. Salem has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 8 strikeouts per game. It's a different story for Christiansburg, though, as they've been averaging only 3.4 strikeouts. Will Salem keep running through batters, or will the Blue Demons buck the trend?
Everything went Salem's way against Christiansburg in their previous meeting back in April, as Salem made off with a 7-0 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Spartans since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
