Carteret (N.J.) had its advantage, which at one point stood at 12 points, drop to five before the final whistle blew on a 12-7 victory over
Raritan (Hazlet, N.J.).
The score was knotted at zero heading into the half. The Ramblers took the lead for good on a touchdown pass by
Cory Baccarella to
Brandon Gilder in the third quarter.
Carteret got six points from its defense on the way to victory.
Raritan's only touchdown came on a 7-yard pass from
Riley Sullivan to
Jared Collins in the fourth quarter.
The win was a nice bounce back for CHS, which lost to St. Joseph last week, 23-14.
