West Jordan is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. Everything went their way against Granger on Thursday as they made off with an 18-3 win. The victory continues a trend for the Jaguars in their matchups with the Lancers: they've now won eight in a row.
Grace Mauga was a standout: she went a perfect 2-for-2 with two stolen bases, three runs, and one RBI. That's the most hits she has posted since back in March. The team also got some help courtesy of Megan Gray, who got on base in all three of her plate appearances with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.
West Jordan always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .714. They are 3-1 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.
The home team had come away the winner the last four times Hillcrest and Granger had met, but sadly for the fans who attended this one that wasn't the case. The Huskies blew past the Lancers 18-1 on Friday. The Huskies might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won nine contests by six runs or more this season.
Gracie Pulham made a splash while hitting and pitching. She tossed three innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits. She has been consistent: she hasn't given up more than two walks in eight consecutive appearances. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going 3-for-4 with one triple, two RBI, and one run.
In other batting news, Hillcrest got a massive performance out of Savil Hughes, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with three runs, three RBI, and one triple. Another player making a difference was Sienna Sanchez, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with two triples, two runs, and one stolen base.
Hillcrest's win bumped their record up to 15-5. As for West Jordan, their victory bumped their record up to 7-16.
