The Hale County Wildcats pushed their score all the way to 65 on Monday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They were just a bucket shy of victory and fell 66-65 to American Christian Academy. Hale County has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
American Christian Academy's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Davis Dare, who scored 22 points along with five rebounds and two steals. Dare hasn't dropped below 15points for 11 straight games. Eric Hines was another key contributor, dropping a double-double on 17 points and 12 rebounds.
Hale County dropped their record down to 13-8 with that loss, which was their third straight at home. As for American Christian Academy, they are on a roll lately: they've won 12 of their last 15 matches, which provided a nice bump to their 17-7 record this season.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Hale County's homestand continues as they prepare to take on Northside at 7:30 p.m. on January 26th. Northside will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Alabama Rankings (they are ranked 282nd, while Hale County is ranked 91st). As for American Christian Academy, they will be playing at home against Bibb County at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
