The Panthers walked away with a 49-39 victory over the Mustangs on Tuesday for which the team can thank Nelson, who shot 45% from the field on his way to 24 points. He continues to improve, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played.
Several Mustangs players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Wyatt Ray, who went 6-for-13 en route to 18 points and eight boards. The team also got some help courtesy of David Martin, who dropped a double-double with ten points and 12 rebounds.
Pathway Christian's first win this season bumped their record up to 1-4. As for Morning Star Academy, with the loss, they broke their three-game winning streak and moved their record to 3-3.
Pathway Christian will take on Coram Deo Academy in a holiday battle at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Morning Star Academy, they will get a bit of extra time to process the defeat as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Faith Christian at 6:30 p.m. on January 6, 2026.
