The St. John Fighting Herald scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Monday. They blew past Harding, posting a 63-32 victory at home. St. John has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won five matchups by 31 points or more this season.
St. John was led to victory by alyssa cevera and Mickey Zheng. cevera dropped a double-double on 23 points and 14 rebounds, while Zheng scored 14 points along with eight assists and six steals. That makes it six consecutive games in which cevera has scored at least a third of St. John's points. Alexa Jordan was another key contributor, scoring 12 points along with three steals.
Harding's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Madisen Mcfadden, who scored 19 points along with seven rebounds, and Madison Hunt who scored four points along with seven rebounds and two steals. Hunt hasn't dropped below two steals for three straight games.
St. John's win bumped their record up to 6-9. As for Harding, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-11.
St. John's homestand continues as they prepare to take on Lordstown at 6:15 p.m. on January 25th. Lordstown comes in still looking for their first win of the season. Harding's road trip will continue as they head out to face Mathews at 5:30 p.m. on January 25th. Mathews comes in on a streak of failing to score more than 23 points in their last four games, a trend the team is of course eager to reverse.
