The Central Spartans had already won three in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 14.3 points), and they went ahead and made it four on Tuesday. In a tight match that could have gone either way, they made off with a 67-66 win over Imperial. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
Jared Martin was his usual excellent self, scoring 26 points. He hasn't dropped below 15points for 11 straight games. Another player making a difference was Kaleb Flores, who scored 15 points.
Imperial lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Jared Nixon, who dropped a double-double on 20 points and 17 rebounds. Nixon continues to roll, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. Izaiah Perez was another key contributor, scoring 19 points along with nine rebounds and two steals.
