Basketball Recap: Christian Academy of Madison Comes Up Short

Christian Academy of Madison lost against Crothersville back in November of 2023, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Monday. The Christian Academy of Madison Defenders took a hard 55-38 fall against the Crothersville Tigers. The Defenders' loss continues a trend for the team, making it three in a row.

Despite the loss, Christian Academy of Madison still got an impressive performance from Lindsey Gross, who dropped a double-double on 11 points and 15 rebounds. The dominant performance gave Gross a new career-high in boards. Another player making a difference was Hannah Skirvin, who posted 16 points in addition to five boards and three steals.

Crothersville found their leader in sophomore Brooklyn Bottorff, who put up 14 points. Those 14 points set a new season-high mark for Bottorff. The team also got some help courtesy of Bella Riley, who had eight points and five rebounds.

Christian Academy of Madison's defeat dropped their record down to 1-4. As for Crothersville, their victory ended an eight-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 3-5.

Christian Academy of Madison will head out to take on South Decatur at 6:00 p.m. on December 17th. As for Crothersville, they will welcome South Central at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. One thing working in South Central's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last three games.
