The McFarland Cougars came tearing into Tuesday's matchup with five straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 21.6 points) and they left with even more momentum. They secured a 43-37 W over Delano. That's another feather in the cap for McFarland, who also won these teams' last head-to-head.
Several Tigers players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Ibrahim Shuwait, who dropped a double-double on 17 points and 23 rebounds. Shuwait hasn't dropped below eight rebounds for 12 straight games. Jotham Amodo was another key contributor, scoring eight points along with two steals.
McFarland pushed their record up to 17-6 with that victory, which was their third straight on the road. As for Delano, their loss ended a six-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 14-7.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. McFarland will take on Wasco at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Delano, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Taft at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. Taft has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 609 points over their last nine matches.
