It was a good run, but the Sumter County Panthers unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak on Saturday. They fell to Jeff Davis 50-45. Sumter County was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Jeff Davis apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in January.
Jeff Davis' success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Malachi Smith led the charge by scoring 12 points. Another player making a difference was A.J. Hunt, who scored seven points.
Sumter County's defeat dropped their record down to 9-16. As for Jeff Davis, their win ended a four-game drought on the road and puts them at 7-18.
Sumter County does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Jeff Davis also has no future games currently scheduled.
