It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but the Rockwall Yellowjackets had no problem doing just that on Saturday. They had just enough and edged the Indians out 46-43. The win was familiar territory for Rockwall who now have ten in a row.
It was another big night for Ashten Emory, who rushed for 270 yards and four touchdowns while picking up 8.4 yards per carry. Emory hasn't dropped below two rushing touchdowns for three straight games. Mason Marshall was another key contributor, rushing for 14 yards and a touchdown.
When it comes to explaining why Waxahachie lost, one person who can't be blamed is Ramon Mckinney jr.. Despite the final result, he rushed for 198 yards and four touchdowns while picking up 9.4 yards per carry. Mckinney jr. was no stranger to the big play, taking off on a dash that went for 62 yards.
Rockwall's win bumped their record up to 11-1. As for Waxahachie, their defeat dropped their record down to 9-3.
Rockwall will head out on the road to face off against Westfield at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday. Westfield has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 324 points over their last five matches. Waxahachie does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
