The Southridge Suns will face off against the Peninsula Seahawks at 3:00 p.m. on Thursday. Southridge will aim to continue their four-game streak of scoring more runs each match than the last.
Southridge barely beat Kennewick the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Suns put the hurt on the Lions with a sharp 12-2 victory on Friday. The result was nothing new for the Suns, who have now won nine games by six runs or more so far this season.

Avery Garvey made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she tossed five innings while giving up just two earned runs off six hits. Garvey was also big at the plate, going 3-for-4 with three runs and one RBI. Those three runs gave her a new career-high.
In other batting news, Faith Hickman was incredible, going 3-for-4 with one home run, six RBI, and two runs. That's the most hits she has posted since back in March. The team also got some help courtesy of Jadyn Holdren, who got on base in all four of her plate appearances with two runs, one double, and one RBI.
Southridge always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .548. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their OBP total in four consecutive contests.
Meanwhile, Peninsula posted their closest win since April 18th on Saturday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against Auburn Mountainview, sneaking past 10-8. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Seahawks.
Meghan Webster made a splash no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, pitching 6.1 innings while giving up just two earned runs off five hits. Webster was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-5 with one run, one double, and one RBI.
In other batting news, Izzy Michaels was a standout: she went 2-for-4 with one home run and three RBI. Another player making a difference was Paige Jones, who got on base in four of her five plate appearances with two RBI and one double.
Southridge has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 14-11 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.0 runs on average over those games. As for Peninsula, their record now sits at 16-9.
Thursday's game will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Southridge hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .330. However, it's not like Peninsula struggles in that department as they've averaged .381. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
