The Florence Huskies's five-game losing streak came to an end on Tuesday. They enjoyed a cozy 59-43 victory over Colorado Springs Christian. Winning is a bit easier when you outrebound your opponent 17 to 7 on the offensive boards, as Florence did.
Gage Goodall continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, dropping a double-double on 25 points and 13 rebounds. He hasn't dropped below eight rebounds for five straight games. Gunnar Phillips was another key contributor, scoring eight points along with five assists and four steals.
Colorado Springs Christian lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Miguel Cota-cordova, who dropped a double-double on 14 points and 13 rebounds. Another player making a difference was Levi Williams, who scored nine points along with three steals.
Florence's victory ended a six-game drought on the road and puts them at 5-9. As for Colorado Springs Christian, they have not been sharp recently, as they've lost five of their last six contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 2-7 record this season.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Florence will take on Ellicott at 3:30 p.m. on Saturday. As for Colorado Springs Christian, they will stay at home for another game and welcome Rye at 7:30 p.m. on January 25th. Hopefully Rye focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 15 on Tuesday.
