After two games on the road, Plainfield Central is heading back home. They will take on The Joliet West Tigers at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The two teams each escaped (but just barely!) with wins against their previous opponents.
Last Friday, it was close, but Plainfield Central sidestepped Plainfield South for a 23-20 win.
Meanwhile, Joliet West had already won five in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 26.4 points), and they went ahead and made it six on Friday. They skirted past Plainfield East 17-15. Given Joliet West's advantage in MaxPreps' Illinois football rankings (they are ranked 107th, while Plainfield East is ranked 260th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Their wins bumped Plainfield Central to 4-4 and Joliet West to 7-1.
Plainfield Central was able to grind out a solid victory over Joliet West when the teams last played back in September of 2022, winning 30-22. Does Plainfield Central have another victory up their sleeve, or will Joliet West turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
