SAPULPA, Okla. -
Sapulpa (Okla.) leapt out of the gate with 25 points in the first quarter, setting the stage for a 53-8 victory over Hale (Tulsa, Okla.) on Saturday.
After taking the lead on a touchdown pass by
Sam Gottsch to
Ben Johnson in the first quarter, the Chieftains were up 39-0 at the half.
Sapulpa grew its lead to 53 points entering the fourth quarter. SHS scored two times in the third, including once on a rushing touchdown.
Hale's lone touchdown came on a 2-yard run in the fourth quarter.
In a non-conference game next week Sapulpa (2-0) takes on Page, and Hale (0-2) will go up against Oklahoma City Legion also in a non-conference game.
