The John Adams Academy Patriots scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Tuesday. They came out on top against Westlake Charter by a score of 83-76. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
Isaiah McKee continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, dropping a double-double on 29 points and 15 rebounds. That makes it five consecutive games in which he has scored at least a third of John Adams Academy's points. Luciano Allen was another key contributor, scoring 13 points along with six assists and three steals.
Despite the loss, Westlake Charter had strong showings from Quinones Fleeton, who dropped a double-double on 16 points and 12 rebounds, and Matthew Quilatan, who scored 24 points. Another player making a difference was Jarriel Taylor, who scored seven points along with nine rebounds.
The victory got John Adams Academy back to even at 9-9. As for Westlake Charter, their loss was their fifth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 8-9.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. John Adams Academy will take on Kelseyville at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. Kelseyville presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than John Adams Academy in California (Kelseyville is ranked 542nd, while John Adams Academy is ranked 1104th). As for Westlake Charter, they will be playing at home against Fortune Early College at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
