Baseball Recap: Interlake's Win on Wednesday Extends Winning Streak to Four

Interlake had already won three in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 6.3 runs) and they went ahead and made it four on Wednesday. Everything went their way against the Lindbergh Eagles as they made off with a 13-2 victory. The Saints might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won six contests by six runs or more this season.

Alex Diaz was incredible, getting on base in all five of his plate appearances with four RBI, one stolen base, and one run. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in hits (three). Brady Didrickson also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.

Interlake was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .481. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Lindbergh only posted a batting average of .200.

Interlake's win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 10-6. Those road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.0 runs over those games. As for Lindbergh, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost five of their last six games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-7 record this season.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Interlake is set to challenge their familiar foe Evergreen at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Lindbergh will face off against rival Renton at 3:30 p.m. on Friday.
