Meanwhile, things could have been worse for Academy Charter, but they could have been a whole lot better as they took a 59-43 loss to Central on Saturday.
Despite their defeat, Academy Charter saw several players rise to the challenge and make noteworthy plays. Jovani Dorismond , who scored nine points along with eight rebounds, was perhaps the best of all. Sam McQueen was another key contributor, scoring seven points along with eight rebounds.
St. Mary's defeat was their eighth straight at home dating back to last season, which bumped their record down to 0-3. As for Academy Charter, they now have a losing record at 1-2.
