Softball Recap: Colton Now 7-1 over Last Eight Games

Colton proved they can win big last Monday (they won by ten) and on Wednesday they proved they can win the close ones too. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 10-8 victory over the Jurupa Hills Spartans. For the Yellowjackets, this counts as revenge for the 14-5 win the Spartans walked away with the last time they faced one another back in April of 2024.

The team relied heavily on MALEAH JUAREZ, who scored a run while going 2-for-3. ALYSSA RAMIREZ also deserves some recognition as she hit her first double of the season.

JUAREZ wasn't the only one working in the hit department: Colton kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 15 hits. The Yellowjackets are a perfect 9-0 when they post 11 or more hits.

Colton has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 10-3 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.8 runs over those games. As for Jurupa Hills, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 6-6.

Coming up, Colton will challenge Jurupa Valley at 3:15 p.m. on Friday. As for Jurupa Hills, they will face off against Carter at 3:45 p.m. on Friday. The game will give the Spartans their first taste of in-conference action this season.
