The Screven County Gamecocks came into Saturday's game having lost six straight, but that streak is now in the rearview. They came out on top against Jefferson County by a score of 57-50 on Saturday. For Screven County, this counts as revenge for the 74-38 defeat the Warriors walked away with the last time they faced one another back in February of 2023.
Screven County found their leader in underclassman Rodney Beckwith, who almost dropped a double-double on 16 points and nine rebounds. It was the first time this season that Beckwith scored 15 or more points.
Screven County's win ended a four-game drought on the road and puts them at 4-17. As for Jefferson County, they dropped their record down to 4-16 with that loss, which was their fourth straight at home.
Screven County will take on the Warriors at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Jefferson County, they will head out on the road to square off against the Fighting Irish at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Dublin has now lost seven straight, and the team is hunting for their first win since January 6.
