Arvada West was led to victory by Sara Walker and Malorie Byrne. Walker scored nine points along with six rebounds and three steals, while Byrne scored 20 points along with five rebounds. Those 20 points set a new season-high mark for her. Another player making a difference was Saylor Swanson, who scored seven points.
Heritage's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Clementine Sapp, who scored 11 points. Those 11 points set a new season-high mark for her. Payton Jumps was another key contributor, scoring three points along with four steals.
Arvada West's victory was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 9-3. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 59.5 points per game. As for Heritage, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-8.
Arvada West will head out on the road to face off against Ralston Valley at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. That game will pit two of the most dominant guards against one another: Santana Sabus and Swanson. As for Heritage, they will be playing at home against Legend at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
