The Sutherland Sailors can finally bid farewell to their three-game losing streak thanks to their game on Friday. They put the hurt on Sandhills Valley with a sharp 40-19 win. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Sutherland also won the last time the pair played back in December of 2021.
Sutherland's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Glory Naughtin, who scored 7 points along with 7 rebounds. Story Rasby was another key contributor, scoring 8 points along with 7 steals.
Sutherland's victory bumped their record up to 1-3. As for Sandhills Valley, they still haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-3.
Sutherland will head out on the road to face off against Wallace at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Wallace is still on the hunt for that elusive first 'W'. As for Sandhills Valley, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Arthur County at 5:00 p.m. on Saturday. Arthur County is hoping to put an end to a three-game streak of away losses.
