Johnson is 8-2 against Dayton since January of 2018, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Saturday. The Johnson Crusaders will head out on the road to face off against the Dayton Bulldogs at 1:00 p.m. Given that the pair suffered a loss in their last game, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this game.
Johnson couldn't capitalize on their home-court advantage in their season opener. They took a 73-63 hit to the loss column at the hands of Brearley on Thursday. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
Meanwhile, Dayton had to hit the road for their first game and sadly it wasn't the result they were hoping for. They fell to Governor Livingston 45-41. Dayton can't seem to catch a break and have yet to win any of their one games.
Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the most dominant came from JJ Perez, who scored 11 points. Kyle Rosenstock was another key contributor, scoring ten points.
Johnson still hasn't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-1. As for Dayton, they bumped their record down to 0-1 with that defeat, which was their fifth straight on the road dating back to last season.
Johnson came up short against Dayton in their previous matchup back in January, falling 54-50. Can Johnson avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
