The West Noble Chargers on the road again on Friday and play against the Garrett Railroaders at 7:30 p.m. on January 19th. West Noble has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last four games.
Last Tuesday, West Noble was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap as they fell 58-52 to Eastside. While losing is never fun, West Noble can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Indiana basketball rankings (they are ranked 336th, while Eastside is ranked 61st).
Despite the defeat, West Noble got a solid performance out of Alayna C delong, who dropped a double-double on ten points and 17 rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Allison Recendiz, who scored five points along with two steals.
Garrett suffered their biggest loss yet this season on Tuesday. They were beaten by Bellmont 57-21.
West Noble has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost ten of their last 11 matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 2-17 record this season. As for Garrett, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-14.
Things could have been worse for West Noble, but things could have been a whole lot better as they took a 55-37 loss to Garrett when the teams last played back in January of 2023. Thankfully for West Noble, Bailey Kelham (who dropped a double-double on 32 points and ten rebounds) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result? There's only one way to find out.
