The Sioux County Warriors will be playing at home against the Hyannis Longhorns on Friday. Both teams come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Sioux County's and Guernsey-Sunrise's matchup on Thursday was close at halftime, but Sioux County turned on the heat in the second half with 28 points. Sioux County was the clear victor by a 50-30 margin over Guernsey-Sunrise. The victory was all the more spectacular given Sioux County's disadvantage in MaxPreps' basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 265th in Nebraska, while Guernsey-Sunrise is ranked 58th in Wyoming).
Sioux County's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Shane Gluth, who dropped a double-double on ten points and ten rebounds. Cy Hughson was another key contributor, scoring eight points along with four steals.
Meanwhile, Hyannis waltzed into their contest last Tuesday with two straight wins but they left with three. They took down Garden County 54-35.
Sioux County has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four contests, which provided a nice bump to their 6-15 record this season. As for Hyannis, they pushed their record up to 18-2 with that victory, which was their tenth straight at home.
