Meanwhile, Bloomfield lost 3-0 to Lordstown on Thursday. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss the Cardinals have suffered against the Red Devils since September 12, 2022.
Bloomfield was held off the scoreboard, but that almost wasn't the case: they kept the second set very close. The match finished with set scores of 25-18, 25-22, 25-19.
Chalker will need to focus on slowing down Peyton Koon, one of several Bloomfield players who made an impact when they last played. She had 18 digs, nine kills, two blocks, and two aces. Koon has been hot recently, having posted seven or more kills the last four times she's played. Aniyla Doll was another key player, getting 22 digs and three aces.
Chalker now has a winning record of 8-7. As for Bloomfield, they have been struggling recently as they've lost five of their last six matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-12 record this season.
Here's a few offensive stats to keep an eye on ahead of Monday's matchup: Chalker has really dialed in their serving this season, having averaged 13.7 aces per game. However, it's not like Bloomfield struggles in that department as they've been averaging 11.7 aces. Given these competing strengths, it'll be interesting to see how their clash plays out.
Chalker took their victory against Bloomfield in their previous matchup back in August by a conclusive 3-0 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Wildcats since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
