The Bartow Yellow Jackets had to endure a six-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They breezed by Auburndale at home to the tune of 60-24. Bartow's offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.
Bartow found their leader in underclassman Jj West, who scored 22 points along with nine steals. Those nine steals set a new season-high mark for her. Jalissa Foster was another key contributor, scoring 19 points along with seven steals.
Bartow's win ended a four-game drought at home and bumped them up to 2-6. As for Auburndale, they bumped their record down to 0-5 with that defeat, which was their ninth straight on the road dating back to last season.
Bartow will square off against Lincoln Park Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Hopefully Lincoln Park Academy focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 16 on Friday. Auburndale will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Tenoroc at 8:00 p.m. on January 4, 2024.
