Even though the Cathedral Fighting Irish have not done well against the Huntington North Vikings recently (they were 0-3 in their previous three matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Saturday. Cathedral strolled past Huntington North with points to spare, taking the game 50-36. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Cathedral.
Taylor Lewis was her usual excellent self, scoring 15 points along with six rebounds and three blocks. Another player making a difference was Jaeda Wilson, who scored 14 points along with two steals.
Cathedral has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matches, which provided a nice bump to their 11-10 record this season. As for Huntington North, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 10-10.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Cathedral will square off against Carmel at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Indiana (Carmel is ranked 50th, while Cathedral is ranked 74th). As for Huntington North, Huntington North and Fort Wayne South Side will face off at 6:30 p.m. on January 23rd without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Fort Wayne South Side is on a three-game streak of home losses, Huntington North a three-game streak of away losses, but someone's luck is about to change.
