Sunshine State - North recap November 13, 2013
First Academy scaled the state rankings by moving to 442 from 470 this week, the biggest jump in Sunshine State - North. The Eagles climbed the ranks as a result of besting Seffner Christian 32-27.
Windermere Prep fell to International Community 56-22 last week, the largest margin of any game. Parker Davis was a bright spot for the Lakers, as he threw for 118 yards and 3 touchdowns and ran for 17 yards in the loss.
Legacy Charter's dynamic duo of Colton Liddell and Deontrey James proved tough for Merritt Island Christian to stop, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week. Liddell threw for 224 yards and 3 touchdowns and James had 152 yards receiving. Emmanuel Flanders helped Legacy Charter's passing attack out by catching 3 balls for 53 yards.
Luke Lea made the biggest impact on defense this week as First Academy defeated the Crusaders. The 6-foot-5 senior forced 1 fumble and grabbed 1 sack.
Byron Masoline was a beast in the backfield as Sheldon Walker's team beat Seffner Christian.
Leading the league in both passing and receiving yards, Windermere Prep's Davis and Andrew Kane have proven to be a lethal combination. 6-0 quarterback Davis has thrown for 1,669 yards this season, while Kane has 27 catches for 475 yards. Masoline from the Eagles leads the league in rushing with 1,735 yards.
First Academy and Steve Lewis' team played the closest game in the league this week, with First Academy eventually emerging with a 32-27 victory. Masoline ran for 237 yards in the win.
