Phil Campbell is 4-0 against Winston County since January of 2015, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Monday. The Phil Campbell Bobcats will head out on the road to face off against the Winston County Yellowjackets at 6:00 p.m. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last game, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this game.
Last Tuesday, Phil Campbell came up short against Vinemont and fell 63-51.
Meanwhile, Winston County's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their fourth straight loss. They received a tough blow as they fell 57-41 to Curry. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Winston County in their matchups with Curry: they've now lost three in a row.
The losing side was boosted by Lynleigh Cobb, who dropped a double-double on 25 points and 12 rebounds. She scored a full 61% of Winston County's points, the fourth time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points.
Phil Campbell's victory bumped their season record to 1-3 while Vinemont's defeat dropped theirs to 5-2.
Everything went Phil Campbell's way against Winston County in their previous matchup back in February of 2018 as Phil Campbell made off with a 56-33 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for Phil Campbell since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
