Onalaska and La Crosse Central are an even 5-5 against one another since April of 2019, but likely not for long. The Hilltoppers will face off against the Riverhawks at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. La Crosse Central took a loss in their last match and will be looking to turn the tables on Onalaska, who comes in off a win.
While Onalaska's victory against Prairie du Chien wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Hilltoppers sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 3-2 win over the Blackhawks on Friday. The Hilltoppers haven't had any issues with the Blackhawks recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive victory against them.

In other batting news, Carson Campbell was excellent, going 1-for-2 with two stolen bases, one run, and one double. Those two stolen bases gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Carson Zinnecker, who went 2-for-4 with two doubles, one run, and one RBI.
Meanwhile, La Crosse Central fought the good fight in their extra-innings game against Tomah on Thursday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell 5-2 to the Timberwolves. The Riverhawks just can't catch a break and have now endured five defeats in a row.
La Crosse Central saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Landon Smith, who went 2-for-4 with one stolen base.
Onalaska's record is now 9-11. As for La Crosse Central, their loss dropped their record down to 4-17.
Onalaska took their win against La Crosse Central in their previous matchup back in April of 2024 by a conclusive 11-1 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Hilltoppers since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
