Softball Recap: Make It Four in a Row for Eastside

Eastside owes their pitching crew a big pat on the back after their performance on Wednesday. They had just enough and edged out the J.I. Burton Black Raiders 2-0. The victory was familiar territory for the Spartans, who have now won four games in a row.

Emma Sartin made a splash no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, tossing 1.1 innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two hits in nine consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-4 with one home run and two RBI.

Sartin wasn't the only one making solid contact as five players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Dakota Clay, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base. That stolen base was Clay's first of the season.

Eastside's win bumped their record up to 16-2. As for J.I. Burton, they now have a losing record of 6-7.

Coming up, Eastside will venture away from home to challenge Castlewood at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. J.I. Burton does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
