This season hasn't been kind to The Greater Johnstown Trojans, who are still winless after their tenth match. They were beaten by Bellwood-Antis 40-6 on Friday. Greater Johnstown was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 33-0.
Greater Johnstown's loss came despite strong showings from Julias Reed and Gerald Veney jr. Reed threw for 119 yards and a touchdown, while Veney jr picked up 100 receiving yards and a touchdown.
Among those leading the charge was Alex Mccartney, who rushed for 144 yards and two touchdowns.
The team's defense also helped out by holding Greater Johnstown to a paltry 190 yards. A big part of that defensive dominance came down to Bellwood-Antis' ability to keep the quarterback under pressure: the team laid him out four times before it was all said and done. The heavy lifting was done by Chance Schreier and Mccartney who racked up four sacks between them.
Greater Johnstown's defeat was their 11th straight on the road (dating back to last season), which dropped their overall record down to 0-10. As for Bellwood-Antis, their victory ended a four-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 2-8.
Greater Johnstown does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Bellwood-Antis also has no future games currently scheduled.
