The Mentorship Academy Sharks will head out on the road to face off against the West Feliciana Saints at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Mentorship Academy will be strutting in after a victory while West Feliciana will be coming in after a loss.
Last Saturday, Mentorship Academy didn't have too much trouble with Delhi at home as they won 65-50. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Mentorship Academy.
Meanwhile, West Feliciana's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Monday after their fifth straight loss. They took a serious blow against Lafayette Christian Academy, falling 66-30. While losing is never fun, West Feliciana can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Louisiana basketball rankings (they are ranked 282nd, while Lafayette Christian Academy is ranked fourth).
Mentorship Academy's win was their fourth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 6-2. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 64.8 points per game. As for West Feliciana, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-9.
Mentorship Academy beat West Feliciana 50-39 when the teams last played back in February of 2022. The rematch might be a little tougher for Mentorship Academy since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
