Volleyball Recap: Jefferson Has No Trouble Against Preston

Jefferson had to skate by with only a one-set margin when they last took the court, which might have inspired the three-set drubbing they dealt Preston on Thursday. The Cougars blew past the Knights 3-0. The Cougars not only won on Thursday, but they posted their biggest win since August 26th (when they won 3-0).

Jefferson walked away with the win (and looked especially good in the second set). The match finished with set scores of 25-17, 25-6, 25-20.

Liv Mercer paced Jefferson's offense, picking up eight kills. Mercer got some help from Aven Thorn and her 19 assists. Sarah Diaz controlled things from the service line, finishing with five aces.

Jefferson is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matchups. That's provided a massive bump to their 11-17-3 record this season. As for Preston, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 16-29-1.

Jefferson has already played their next match, a 3-0 defeat against Morgantown on the 30th. As for Preston, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 3-0 loss against University on the 3rd.
