The Green Valley Gators were the 39-30 winner over the Boulder City Eagles when they last played one another back in November of 2022, but their luck changed this time around. Green Valley fell 49-42 to Boulder City on Tuesday.
Green Valley's loss came despite strong showings from Amelia Rawhouser and Gianessa Vazquez. Rawhouser dropped a double-double on 15 points and 11 rebounds, while Vazquez scored 15 points along with seven rebounds. That's the first time this season that Rawhouser scored 15 or more points.
Green Valley's loss was their 11th straight on the road dating back to last season, which bumped their record down to 3-13. That rough patch could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 27.2 points per game. As for Boulder City, the win makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 7-5.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Green Valley will take on Doral Academy Red Rock at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Boulder City, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Moapa Valley at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Moapa Valley focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 11 last Thursday.
