The Spring Creek Spartans and the Elko Indians squared off in some playoff action on Saturday, but sadly the Spring Creek Spartans had to settle for second. They took a 40-21 bruising from the Indians. Spring Creek just can't catch a break and has now endured three defeats in a row.
Several Spartans players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Delilah Bautista, who scored nine points along with seven rebounds.
Spring Creek has traveled a rocky road recently having lost five of their last six matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-14 record this season. As for Elko, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 10-12.
Spring Creek does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Elko, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 65-54 defeat vs. North Valleys on the 12th.
