Bunker Hill hasn't had much luck against Bandys recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The Bears will look to defend their home field against the Trojans at 7:00 p.m. The last four games Bunker Hill has played have been within two runs, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.
Last Friday, Bunker Hill didn't have quite enough to beat Newton-Conover and fell 5-4. That's two games in a row now that the Bears have lost by just one run.

Skyler Marlowe was huge no matter where he played even without the win. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out six batters over six innings while giving up just two earned (and two unearned) runs off two hits. Marlowe was also solid in the batter's box, scoring two runs and stealing a base while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances. Bunker Hill is 3-1 when Marlowe posts two or more runs, but 5-9 otherwise.
In other batting news, Corey Canipe made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with four RBI and one double. Another player making a difference was Kamden Bortz, who scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-4.
Meanwhile, Bandys got themselves on the board against West Caldwell on Monday, but West Caldwell never followed suit. They blew past the Warriors 13-0. That looming 13-0 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for the Trojans yet this season.
Chase Welch looked comfortable as he didn't allow a single earned run over four innings pitched. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two walks in seven consecutive appearances.
At the plate, Bandys got a massive performance out of Dominic Robinson, who scored three runs and stole a base while getting on base in four of his five plate appearances. That's the most runs Robinson has posted since back in April of 2024. Cody Serventi was another key player, going 2-for-5 with three RBI.
Bandys hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as West Caldwell struck out seven times.
Bandys' win bumped their record up to 5-10. As for Bunker Hill, their defeat dropped their record down to 8-10.
Bunker Hill couldn't quite finish off Bandys when the teams last played back in April of 2024 and fell 4-2. Can the Bears avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
