Capital has enjoyed the comforts of home their last two games, but now they'll head out on the road. They will take on the Middleton Vikings at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. Capital has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.
Last Thursday, Capital strolled past Mountain View with points to spare, taking the game 54-39.
Meanwhile, Middleton faced Eagle in a battle between two of the state's top teams. Middleton put the hurt on Eagle with a sharp 57-37 win on Saturday. The victory was familiar territory for Middleton who now have 12 in a row.
Middleton got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Zoey Blackwell out in front who scored 16 points along with four steals. Blackwell is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last 11 games she's played. Another player making a difference was Laci Eagy, who scored six points along with two steals.
Capital's win bumped their record up to 5-11. As for Middleton, they pushed their record up to 15-3 with that victory, which was their fourth straight at home.
Things could have been worse for Capital, but things could have been a whole lot better as they took a 55-36 loss to Middleton when the teams last played back in January of 2023. Can Capital avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
