The Greenwood Rangers waltzed into Friday's matchup with five straight wins but they left with six. They walked away with a 68-57 victory over Sweetwater. Given Greenwood's advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 300th, while Sweetwater is ranked 806th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
It was another big night for Tatum Pierce, who scored 26 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Ty Presley, who scored 16 points.
Greenwood's victory bumped their record up to 6-1. As for Sweetwater, their loss dropped their record down to 2-5.
Greenwood will be staying on the road on Friday to face off against Plainview at 5:00 p.m. on December 1st. Plainview will be looking to extend their current four-game winning streak. As for Sweetwater, they will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Greenwood at 7:30 p.m. Greenwood knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past six games -- so hopefully Sweetwater likes a good challenge.
