The Montverde Academy Eagles will head out to challenge the Parrish Community Bulls at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Both teams are coming into the match red-hot, with Montverde Academy sitting on five straight victories and Parrish Community on 13.
Montverde Academy had to skate by with only a two-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the six-run drubbing they dealt Foundation Academy on Tuesday. The Eagles put the hurt on the Lions with a sharp 7-1 win. The Eagles might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 14 games by six runs or more this season.
Nevaeh Williams spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered a run (which was unearned) on five hits and racked up 17 Ks. She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't given up more than two walks in 16 consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Montverde Academy let Miranda Murch and Addison Poe run wild. Murch fired off two home runs while going 2-for-4, while Poe went 3-for-4 with one home run, two RBI, and one double. Those two home runs gave Murch a new career-high. Luna Taboas was another key player, going 2-for-4 with one stolen base, one double, and one RBI.
Montverde Academy was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .406. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Foundation Academy only posted a batting average of .185.
Meanwhile, Parrish Community got themselves on the board against Palmetto on Wednesday, but Palmetto never followed suit. They had just enough and edged out the Tigers 1-0. That's two games straight that the Bulls have won by just one run.
The result came thanks to Sophia Mandarine's shutout, as she gave up just three hits and racked up nine Ks.
On the hitting side, Parrish Community's victory was truly a team effort as three different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Hannah Lewis, who went 1-for-3 with one triple and one run. That triple marked the first that Lewis has hit this season.
Parrish Community pushed their record up to 21-2 with the win, which was their 16th straight at home dating back to last season. The home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.6 runs on average over those games. As for Montverde Academy, their record is now 21-2.
Montverde Academy's speedy runners might be the difference in Tuesday's contest. The Eagles have been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 3.4 stolen bases per game. It's a different story for Parrish Community, though, as they've been averaging an even more impressive 1.3 stolen bases. Will they be able to secure the bases, or will Montverde Academy continue to outrun the ball? Check back here after the action for a full breakdown and analysis of the contest.
