The New Community School has gone a perfect 3-0 against Grace Christian School recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Thursday. The Sabers will challenge the Kings at 4:30 p.m.

Fuqua hit The New Community School with a seven-run sixth inning on Monday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Sabers lost 15-5 to the Falcons. The loss was the Sabers' first of the season.

Meanwhile, Grace Christian School came tearing into Tuesday's contest with four straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 9 runs), and they left with even more momentum. Everything went their way against the Falcons as they made off with a 17-2 victory. The result was nothing new for the Kings, who have now won nine matches by seven runs or more so far this season.

Braxten Lawrence was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He struck out eight batters over four innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off four hits (and only one walk). He has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than one walk in five consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, getting on base in all four of his plate appearances with one RBI.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Ben Best, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. C.B. Price also deserves some recognition as he got his first hit of the season.

Grace Christian School always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .610. They are a perfect 8-0 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.

Grace Christian School pushed their record up to 11-4 with the win, which was their third straight on the road. The road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 16.3 runs over those games. As for The New Community School, their loss dropped their record down to 3-1.

The New Community School took their win against Grace Christian School in their previous meeting back in March of 2023 by a conclusive 17-2 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Sabers since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
