Granite Hills has gone a perfect 10-0 against Adelanto recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Wednesday. The Cougars are taking a road trip to square off against the Saints at 3:15 p.m. One thing working in Granite Hills' favor is that they have posted at least ten runs in their last three matchups.
Granite Hills is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. Everything went their way against Silverado on Friday as they made off with a 17-4 win. Perhaps unsurprisingly given the team's high-flying offense, the game also marked the team's biggest victory of the season.
Kathryn (Kat) McCartney was a major factor no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, pitching six innings while giving up three earned (and one unearned) runs off eight hits. McCartney was also big at the plate, scoring two runs while getting on base in three of her five plate appearances.

In other batting news, Granite Hills let MacKinzie Gomez and Saylor Croom run wild. Gomez went a perfect 4-for-4 with four RBI, two runs, and two doubles, while Croom scored three runs while going 4-for-4. That's the most hits Croom has posted since back in April of 2024. Annabelle Gutierrez was another key player, going 2-for-4 with three RBI, one triple, and one run.
Granite Hills always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .674. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their OBP total in three consecutive games.
Meanwhile, Adelanto hadn't done well against Barstow recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Friday. The Saints sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 12-11 win over the Aztecs. The victory was familiar territory for the Saints, who have now won four contests in a row.
Granite Hills is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 9-6 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.2 runs over those games. As for Adelanto, they pushed their record up to 10-6 with the victory, which was their fourth straight at home.
Everything went Granite Hills' way against Adelanto in their previous meeting back in March, as Granite Hills made off with a 16-6 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Cougars since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
