Baseball Game Preview: Santiam Christian Eagles vs. Scio Loggers

For the second straight game, Santiam Christian will face off against Scio. The Eagles will be playing in front of their home fans against the Loggers at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Santiam Christian has nine straight victories, Scio has three straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the field.

Josh Riddle was a major factor no matter where he played. He didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out nine over five innings pitched. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than two hits in four consecutive appearances. He was also stellar in the batter's box, scoring two runs and stealing three bases while going 1-for-3. Those three stolen bases gave him a new career-high.

In other batting news, Justin Oberfoell was a standout: he scored two runs while going 3-for-4. Tim Euhus was another key player, scoring two runs while going 2-for-3.

Santiam Christian hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. The team has now struck out at least five batters in seven consecutive contests.
