The Bruceville-Eddy Eagles's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Thursday after their third straight loss. They were just a bucket shy of victory and fell 35-34 to Grace Academy.
Despite the loss, Bruceville-Eddy still got an impressive performance from Payton Brown, who scored 11 points.
Grace Academy's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Richmond McIver led the charge by dropping a double-double on 14 points and 21 rebounds. McIver is on a roll when it comes to rebounds, as he's now pulled down eight or more in the last six games he's played. Another player making a difference was Canyon Maxwell, who scored eight points along with 13 rebounds and four steals.
Bruceville-Eddy's loss was their fourth straight at home, which bumped their record down to 3-8. As for Grace Academy, their win ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 3-4.
